Visit to Leonor Carmo and the Qualifica program

At the end of March we were visiting Leonor Carmo as director of the Qualifica MDS Center in Algueirão.

This program facilitates the certification for different educational levels, primary, secondary and high school, of people who have not completed the regulated face-to-face system, taking into account their learning not only in educational centers but also in their life trajectory. In addition, reincorporation into it is facilitated or the corresponding title is provided.

The process includes the personalized and tutored creation of a personal portfolio where your personal and professional skills are indicated, as well as the vision of your near professional future.

A personalized follow-up is carried out and the initial training is complemented with different training in language, new technologies and other skills necessary in today's world.

From the Qualifica center, these requests are received, the most appropriate trainers are chosen for each need, training is organized to cover these skills and finally, through assessment tribunals, said process is considered suitable or not.

It is very important to have a portfolio of well-qualified trainers, mainly in the social, emotional and guidance fields, since in these educational fields the acquisition of knowledge is as important as the accompaniment and guidance to redirect previously abandoned career or academic paths.

Thanks to Leonor's generosity, we were able to be present at other activities such as the visit to the Senior University of Amadora, where she teaches in French, and we attended a videoconference on citizen cybersecurity, as seen in this image:

On another day, we coincided with the representatives of the Sintra City Council, Algueirão-Mem-Martins, during the inauguration of some sports courts at the Domingos Saraiva Center, where the Algueirão Qualifica MDS center is located.

As in all Erasmus+ mobilities, not only is work discussed and how the different processes and labor realities of each educational system work, but also bonds are strengthened by sharing between the hosts and the visitors the culture of both countries, their heritage riches and points meeting between the two.

Leonor and her team were very kind at all times and accompanied us to visit one of the jewels of Sintra, the Quinta da Regaleira:
