FIRST MOBILITY: MALTA

Our director, Mar, was the first to carry out a mobility. This mobility has been to carry out a Linguistic Competence course in English. Since we are going to communicate in English with quite a few of our colleagues from other countries, we need to update our mastery of this lingua franca. Reason why it was thought that the most convenient thing was to carry out this mobility as soon as possible. So once we knew when, there was where. One place where English is spoken and that offers a wide variety of English courses -among many other claims- is Malta. The course took place from Monday, November 29 to Friday, December 3. After an uneventful journey on Sunday, she arrived in Valletta and, although she did not have time to see much, she already had the feeling that it is a welcoming place for foreign students. From Monday to Friday every morning he had English classes in which she learned and practiced the language with people from all over the world: from Germans, to Japanese, to Russians, etc. But in the afternoons, she did not practice less communicative competence in the meetings and outings they had on the island. On Monday the organization gave them a welcome dinner to get to know each other and the rest of the days they stayed to get to know the island, which they loved. Its capital Valletta is very interesting for its many historical vestiges from different times from the 16th century to the Second World War, for its scenic beauty and its good climate. Not for nothing was it declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980. When she returned she was an expert in English. She even told us the characteristics that she had observed in the English of people with different mother tongues with whom she spoke. Although, of course, she worked hard in the classes, she returned very happy for the gratifying reward of having improved her linguistic competence and having had such an enriching experience.
